Definition: P2P stands for Peer-To-Peer. It is a type of network communication that allows file and data sharing between hardware and software without passing through the services of a server. P2P transfer is faster because P2P does not need a server to share files and data. P2P is very popular for file sharing. Software applications like Kazaa use P2P to transfer files. Skype uses P2P to transmit voice and data messages.
