With this feature, you can change your phone number without changing service provider. You can do so at the click of a button, or by phoning customer service. You can decide to change your number for many reasons, including harassing calls (for which call blocking is a better option), changing house etc.
You may, with some companies, even request a new number of your choice, over the customer service phone line.
