Guide Review - Tribair - Free International Calls on Your Mobile

Tribair is in many ways like one of those conventional mobile VoIP services offering free calls within the network and cheap calls outside the network. It has a freely downloadable and installable VoIP application for the iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry and Android phones. As I write this, these are the only phone supported, which is quite restrictive. Nokia machines will be next on the list.

What really differentiates Tribair from other mobile VoIP services is the huge network of Wi-Fi hotspots it has worldwide to route the VoIP calls. You can register and share your Wi-Fi router and make it a hotspot too and earn 20% of the cash generated by calls routed to your router. You will need a Paypal account for that.

The calls are quite cheap for most destinations, but not the cheapest on the market. But they compare favorably to those of Skype, since they don’t charge connection fees or any other fees. The only additional cost you need to consider is that of the eventually needed 3G plan in case you have no Wi-Fi hotspot around. Tribair is therefore mostly an urban service. Go there to get a map of all registered Wi-Fi hotspots on your area.
