Google Voice has the particularity of being able to ring multiple phones on a call. Say you are engaged in a conversation over your Google Voice number, you can transfer the call to another phone or device by having all the phones ring simultaneously again and then choose the other phone you want to pick up.To do this, just press the Asterisk (*) button on your key pad or dialer.
A sensible reason for doing that would be to save some cellular minutes while on your mobile phone. If your computer is in front of you and your GMail account is open, you can transfer the call and take it on your computer.
