Or should you use Apple's newly launched iPad to make phone calls? I think you should. Firstly because you can. Secondly because the iPad is meant for being ultra portable and you want to be able to make free calls on the move. Thirdly because the calls can be free and can save you the money you would spend using your cellphone minutes. Fourthly, the iPad is supposedly midway between a computer and a smartphone. Finally, given the amount of money you will have invested on it, given its limitations as a computer, and given the cost of the wireless data plans that accompany it, you'd better extract all the juice, and making free calls is one way to do that. But how to make the free calls?
VoIP, of course. However, while VoIP has been green-lighted for Apple's iPad, the door is still ajar for it. We expect it to open wider in the future but are not sure whether it will one day be eventually wide open.
