Since the advent of the iPhone and the craze that followed it, we have seen an interesting number of VoIP applications and services that allow users to make cheap or free local and international calls using Apple's phone. Users however face some limitations: first, they have to install an application and this quite often requires jailbreaking the phone; second, they can make free calls only to users of the same service they chose to use on the iPhone; and thirdly, they can use the cost-cutting VoIP service only when within a Wi-Fi hotspost or having a 3G network plan.

RF.com supercharges the iPhone with mobility anywhere (yes, that's anywhere you have GSM coverage). This gets rid of Wi-Fi or 3G dependency. Free calls can be made to series of voice services like Skype, Yahoo, MSN, GoogleTalk etc. Also, there is no application to install. On the other side, this service is up to now only available for iPhone users, and only in 35 countries. Read more in this RF.com review.
