With the US still struggling to get out of the economic slowdown crisis, and a world recession shadow threatens industries, everyone starts to worry about the industry they are in. VoIP promoters would better be optimistic about it - maybe opportunists too. The economic slowdown might be a springboard for VoIP, making it ever more popular.

The main attitude in an economic slowdown or recession is towards cutting down expenditure. This is what VoIP does. An individual or company shifting his communication system from traditional PSTN to VoIP telephony is sure to save lots of money per year on calls. And there exist many ways of doing that, since the VoIP industry has gained maturity and offers great variety, ranging from residential solutions to large business solutions, passing through web-based and mobile services.
