What VoIP Saw In 2007

The move forward for VoIP in 2007 has been somewhat mitigated by certain bumps, but taken constructively, these bumps can make a stronger VoIP industry in the future. Along with certain security issues, we have seen the fragility of VoIP services. On the bright side, VoIP applications have cropped up like mushrooms, specially those for mobile communication, while existing ones have gone stronger. Here is what I find to be the most prominent VoIP moments of the year.
Elsewhere, PC World lists VoIP among one of the 15 Biggest Tech Disappointments of 2007, terming the year as "a crappy year for VoIP". Throw all the blame on patent lawsuits, Sunrocket's closure and security flaws.
